Harry found himself staring at something like a spider’s web that was made of stone.

Bear emerged next to him, and whistled as he looked around.

“We’ll call this one Harry’s Cavern! Okay, let’s take a break first, and then we’ll look for the way out.”

They sat on a ridge of rock and ate a couple more ration bars.

Harry felt he had to ask. “What happens when we run out of bars?”

“We’ll find food,” Bear told him. Suddenly, he reached up to the rocky wall behind Harry. He was holding a … thing. Harry flinched away from it.

It was like a spider, but with even more legs, wide enough to take up all of Bear’s palm. The front pair of legs ended in claws and they all grew out of a black, armoured body. A single, thin spike stuck up like a tail at its rear end.
